happening in Italy

In the morning of the 6th October when I was going to Stresa,I saw Alun at the Central Station of Milan.
Alun had arrived at Milan the previous evening to Milan.
We were going toward Stresa together, chatting with delight by train.
He was bringing two small books, titled "Japanese Phrase book" and "Italiuan Phrase book." I woud like to appreciate his will to speak in Japanese, although he knew only one Japanese phrase,"Konnichiwa."
The reason why I have written above as "went towad Stresa,is that we got off at the anterior station to Stresa. It was because Alun had gotten off quickly and we(my husband and I) followed him.
The name of the station is "Arona" where were no passengers. He got across the rails rapidly and found a station staff to ask the way to go to our destination.
But his Italian was a little better than Japanese, that is,almost could not speak at all. The station staff seemed to speak only Italian.
For pretty long time, they were talking something (with what language?).
The number of the station staffs increased to several.
At last,I said "we will go there by taxi." So all felt relieved with my words.
They, all the station staffs, man or women, carried our baggages with them like birds.

Travel to Italy

The early October, from the 4th to 16th October,my husband and I went to the North Italy.
On the 6th and 7th,I attended to Multidisciplinary Conference by EPDA at Stresa, besaide of the Lake Maggiore.
My condition in Italy was good,as usual travelling.
The places we visited were Milan,Stresa and Bergamo.
They are in the North Italy,at the distance of one hour from Milan by train.
Stresa has beautiful scenary and known as high-class resort.
Bergamo is a beautiful and small city and it has both of the old city and the new city.
We stayed in the old one,at the hotel called "Agnello d'Oro."
The meaning is "Golden sheep."
The stone pavement of Bergamo has been lasting since Roman times.
There are many buildings as Duomo, eglise,Palace and Piazza sinceing the medieval times.

The places in Italy are beautiful. That reason is that the people has been sensitive to beauty and seeking to be beautiful,I think.
Also because that they want to be with nature, and love to live naturally by nature.
They love to live like human,so they look unconstrained.
The children of Isola Bella are like a child.
I had never heard the voice of child like their voice and those are really cute.
That lasted for long time. They are talkative like as Italian.
They are as they are.

Still now,the people, elder or younger, must be live as they have been living at the Bar or on the street.
They wiil be so,all-time,I think.

Alun,my English teacher

Alun whom I met in Dublin,October 2005.
He came from South Wales and is a webmaster of YapWeb of UK.
Now, he also is the chair of YPN of UK.
He looked charming and wore T-shirt with "LOVE" logo on it.
After that, he mailed me I was so small and my husband had a style.
He invited us to his place anytime when we go to UK.

When I let him know about my going to Italy,he won't go there.
But a few days ago,he has announced his travel to Italy.

He has reserved the same hotel as mine
Then we will be there together for a few days.
I am looking forward that.

The book I bought.

The other day,my husband told me about the book by Shuichi Kato, titled "
A History of Japanese Literature.
The story by my husband was so interesting, then I ordered this book online.
Dr. S.Kato is a highy-educated man and one of the most intellectual person in current Japan.

Today,to surprise, the book in English has been delivered, although I want to buy the book in Japanese, naturally!

I like his lucid writing in Japanese.
(I thought that his idea and writing are so clear.)
This may suit for English.
Addithionally reading in English must be good for me,even if English in this book is so difficult.

The contents of this book are Manyoshu,Genji monogatari,No and Kyogen and including with glossary of literary, historical and Buddhist terms, Notes of Japanese name.

The only affection is my eyes disorder.
Too bad!

new year's card from a patient

I received the new year's card from a patient, yesterday. She had DBS(Deep Brain Stimulation), a surgery for PD patients, two or three years ago.
She wrote in her card that she was in bad condition. Her condition must be terrible to write so on the new year's card, I thought.

So I called her.
She said darkly that she almost could not walk and cook. Letting her laugh,I said that also I fell and did't cook. She laughed a little.
I added that I would like to see cheerful her.But she only told she was dark. She has pains in places, she said.
I don't know the English word for my feeling. In Japanese, I say ”mune ga tsumaru." In English, maybe "choke up."
I said I would go to see her since she said she could not come to the overnight trip of March.
I remember her smile and I'd like to see that again.
